Tree planting

On Saturday 1 February, we’re inviting volunteers to help plant five large new trees on the wet meadows – a real all-hands-on-deck moment and a chance to leave your mark on the reserve! We’ll be planting alder, hornbeam and black poplar, all tough, resilient species well suited to ground that’s waterlogged at times and dry at others. Each tree will be planted with sturdy guards to help them establish and thrive.
This planting is part of our work to increase variety and improve connectivity across the water meadows, supporting wildlife now and into the future.If you’d like to get involved, contact Beverley for more information: beverley@railwaylandproject.org
