Lifelines works with farmers, landowners, and communities across the UK to support them in planting woodland and hedgerows on their land with the help of different faith & non-faith groups from across the country.

Lifelines works with farmers, landowners, and communities across the UK to support them in planting woodland and hedgerows on their land with the help of different faith & non-faith groups from across the country. We organise funded planting weekends throughout the winter where we bring two communities together (roughly 20 people; often city dwellers with limited access to land) to plant up to 1,000 trees or hedgerows provided by the Woodland Trust on a weekend. Last winter, we planted ~3200m of hedgerow and >17,000 trees on farms across England and Wales.

We’re currently looking for farms we can support this winter (2024/25) by bringing people to help with planting trees/hedgerows on the land.

Here is our project page, a short video to give a better sense of what we do and the farmer/landowner application form.
