100 Mile Classroom
About The Project
The 100 Mile Classroom is an ambitious new programme bringing nature into learning for students aged 11 to 18. Run by the Knepp Wildland Foundation as part of Weald to Waves, it connects young people with the Sussex landscape while opening doors to green careers of the future.
From outdoor lessons to hands-on site visits and youth-led projects, students will explore, discover, and play a part in real nature recovery. The programme links schools with nearby recovery sites, supports teachers with curriculum-aligned resources in science and geography, and creates pathways into environmental work.
By tackling the green skills gap and prioritising access for those with fewer opportunities to get outdoors, the 100 Mile Classroom inspires the next generation of nature restorers and environmental leaders.
