BioBox Loan Scheme

The BioBox Loan Scheme is an exciting new initiative across the Weald to Waves corridor. Packed with easy-to-use survey equipment, the BioBoxes let community groups, landowners, and local projects explore and monitor the wildlife around them, generating valuable data to guide nature recovery and inspire hands-on engagement with nature.

About The Project

The BioBox Loan Scheme is a hands-on way to explore, record, and celebrate the wildlife around you. Each BioBox is packed with easy-to-use survey equipment, from bat detectors and moth traps to pond nets and tracking tunnels, making ecological monitoring fun and accessible in gardens, local greenspaces, woodland edges, or farmland.

By submitting sightings, the scheme helps build a clearer picture of biodiversity across the Weald to Waves corridor. The data guides conservation efforts, tracks changes over time, and highlights where species and habitats need support, while giving everyone involved a chance to connect with the incredible wildlife on their doorstep.

The BioBox Loan Scheme empowers local action, sparks curiosity about the natural world, and contributes directly to nature recovery across Sussex.
