Actions for Nature

By Alex Briggs - 15 May 2025

We’re excited to unveil a major milestone in our mission to support nature recovery across Sussex — the brand-new Weald to Waves Members’ Area is getting ready to go live! This innovative online platform is designed to empower our members — individuals, communities and land managers — in their own nature recovery journeys.

For our Land Manager members, we have resources and information to inform and support habitat management and sustainable land use, including our new Land Management Guide produced by our Ambassador and natural capital expert Molly Biddell.

For our Gardens and Greenspaces members, our coordinator Amy Hurn has been working with our Ambassadors Suzi Turner, David Plummer and Kate Bradbury to develop Actions for Nature, allowing you to track progress in your gardens and greenspaces. Whether you care for a small urban patch or a community allotment, every space has the power to help nature thrive. Actions for Nature encourages and informs you on what you could do in your spaces, and enables you to

What You Can Do in the Members’ Area: • Learn & Be Inspired – Access guidance, resources, and examples of real-world actions being taken by fellow members across Sussex. • Track Your Actions – Log the steps you’re taking to help nature, from planting hedgerows to creating ponds or putting up nest boxes. • See the Bigger Picture – Watch as your contributions add to a wider movement, linking habitats and building a nature recovery network stretching from the High Weald to the sea.

This isn’t just a digital tool — but a way of continuing to build our movement, while offering support to a network that is over 1,200 members strong and growing. Every space, from farm level to window box, counts towards creating a more permeable, sustainable landscape for nature. By recording what you do, you're contributing vital data to help us measure impact and shape future plans for nature recovery.

We can’t wait to see what you do.

Ready to Get Involved? Make sure you are signed up as a member, and keep your eyes peeled over the next few weeks for an update on our launch!

A huge congratulations to Chris Lau, who has worked digital miracles to make this a reality, along with the Weald to Waves team and our Ambassadors who have been tireless in creating new content.
